Tagging Ice Routes

Postby Shawn B » Thu Dec 01, 2005 9:28 am

I was talking with Joe yesterday and cleared it with him and he feels it is ok to do...so...I think we should mark the bottom of all the ice routes with the route grade and name. I made up a formula from food colouring, water and gelatin that is somewhat the consistency of water based paint so it is environmentally friendly. We can paint the names and in the spring it will be all gone. I tested it on ice cubes and it works great.

in Grand Falls you can simply pick up a smear of poop and do some finger painting since the city septic seeps out of the ground there
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

Hey man that poop ice makes for great sticks!!! My favorite is the rusty car hood you use as a rope protector.

Okay, what about this...first person to lead a climb in the season gets to name it whatever they want...since technically ice never forms exactly the same it is a 'new' route right?...and then once they name it for the year, they just piss the grade and name at the base...kinda like food coloring...

And since Denise and I can both pee standing up, there is no advantage for the guys. ;)
