Amphitheatre Slack line

Postby STeveA » Thu Mar 22, 2007 10:52 pm

Get practising for the annual Welsford slack line event. We are going to put a slack line across the amphitheatre the weekend of June 2nd. Bring cameras and lots of balls. Lets see if anyone can make it across. Open for other ideas for fun events that weekend.

how about a zip line?
And a pig hauing contest...load a haulbag with a few hundred lbs. See who can rig a pulley system and get it up the fastest (Ulysse is not permitted to enter cause he'll just hand over hand it and make the rest of us look foolish)
Oh... we could throwback to the old UNBR&I days and catch a tire pitched off of Waterfall wall with a body belay.
And Beer, we need to somehow involve beer, I don't think we have enough events that involve drinking.

Man, I've been trying to find a spot to set up a high line for years! I think I may have hit up the Amphitheatre when I head down in July.

open for sure

This is definately open to anyone. The more the merrier. Beer is definately OK however the people checking the safety lines will have to wait until the evening. A haul line competition would be fun. Zip line would be harder, although if someone wants to set it up it could be very exciting (How about a line from the Amphitheatre to the top of Reindeerland). We will need a tyrolean traverse as a safety line so that will be available. Someone mentioned a unicycle, although I am not sure how easy that is on a slack line. We did play with hacky sac on a slack line so you might want to practice that while you are at it.
