Post more photos of Sunnyside

Postby Andrew » Thu Jul 23, 2009 7:27 pm

Hey everyone. I'd love to see more photos of Sunnyside. There is a route I climbed that was either 5.8 or 5.9 and I can't seem to figure out from the guidebook or the new routes guide as to which route I climbed. I think it was on Atomic Wall, but I'm not very familiar with Sunnyside. It had mostly large holds, but went up over a slight overhang 1/2 way up. Not a very good description, so I figured if some photos were posted, I might be able to figure out which route it was.

Please share your photos of Sunnyside.

Sounds like FAIS-TOI PAS MAL 5.9 50’/S(6)/R(2) maybe? just left of stairway to heaven?

Erick told me you guys climbed Superstar, Covalence, Black Dwarf, and Celestial Motion yesterday. I'm guessing you're talking about either Covalence (furthest to the left of those four routes), or Black Dwarf (second from the right). Black Dwarf is in the guidebook as 5.10 something, but most people climb the route differently than Adam originally envisioned, which makes it significantly easier.

Thanks Fred. I have much to learn. More folks should post photos... the internet is built for more than just flat text. Cheers.

I noticed some of the pics are on the computer at the wall, Chris - nice to see some new ones up. People are still asking to see the rock school ones ... are they on there?

Also, is there any way to put captions on the pics? It'd be nice to have the general locations (eg. Cochrane Lane, Rumney, etc), if not the specific climb and the climber...

If anyone else has some cool shots, you should load them onto the computer. :)

I can't speak for anyone else... but I loaded my worthwhile pics onto the R&I compy last week. They should be in the cycle somewhere.

Captions would be nice I guess. I don't know any real slick way to do it though.

Crap, this completely slipped my mind... I have a bunch from rock school to put up.
Also, I'll look into the caption thing.

I put them on the club computer so they are in the rotation.
I'm not sure about adding captions though, there's an option to show the file name, but I didn't see any easy way to add a caption on the computer. Maybe Matt Keays knows a way, he is the webmaster and he is so smart!
