Radioactive Rod 5.11 @ Sunnyside

Postby Adam » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:10 am

So who all has actually climbed this thing? It's normally wet and so there are not a lot of chances to get a shot at it. I'm still not really sure about the grade. Climbed it again on Tuesday night and I'm thinking the moves can't be more than 11a but the onsight quality bumps it up a fair bit... so maybe 11c?

anyone have thoughts?

It's been a while since I climbed it but seem to recall thinking it was 5.11b hence the grade in the guidebook.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

Poche is a great route but definitely 5.11c.

Try Quiet next time you're up there. Tell me if you think it's 5.11a? :)

We did! That route should be graded in the V scale as it is clearly a boulder problem... a very sequential one!
Who says you're not supposed to fall at the 2nd bolt  ? I definitely don't recommend a lighter belayer for it!
