Stuck Purple Curve Nut on DDT

Postby gwa » Sun Aug 01, 2010 8:57 am

Hey

I was climbing DDT yesterday and got my purple Metolius Curve Nut stuck about half way up the route. One of the frustrating placements that I didn't even get to use, as soon as slotted it I realized it wasn't a good fit but it wiggled down anyway and got stuck. If anyone gets it would mind returning it? I picked up these nuts in J-tree a couple years ago and want to have the complete set.

FYI-The Curve Nuts are one sticky nut. They fit well in all kinds of placements but are more likely to get stuck that the classic BD/DMM shape. It's a trade-off for sure. If I could do it over I wouldn't buy them again, if only because Curve Nuts seem to confuse every partner I've climbed with.

p.s. Where was everyone this weekend? Welsford was a ghost town!

Cheers,
Graham

I find the Metolius nuts similar... a dream for the leader but a nightmare for the second.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.
