Georgette's

Postby Dom » Fri Mar 25, 2011 12:55 pm

We from the Hub city crew, drive up pretty often and camp at Welsford. This time of year though I don't feel like cooking and setting up my tent. So last weekend I slept in my car ( I no longer have the serial killer van, but still own a car I can sleep in).

Long story short. What's the best/closest place to eat around Welsford? The Irving has almost nothing except hot dogs and overpriced sandwiches. Is Georgette any good? I know it's a greasy spoon and that's fine but is it a good one. One climber (I won't name him hehe) once said, at Georgette's you get an omelette and a handj**. So that kinda turned me off. Any idea what time it closes?

I know there is a pizza D in grand-Bay but I'd like something a little closer. Worst off I'll go to Pizza D but anybody knows what time it closes on Saturday?

Thanks!
So much rock, so little time

I won't step foot in there. Jon C. has some interesting insight into the kind of food they serve. His stories are enough to gross me out.

Honestly... I'd give a good deal for a decent place to eat in Welsford. Half-cooked sausages at the Irving just don't do it for me.

Bring pre-prepped finger foods. No need to cook!
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

Tell me that if there was a cafe in Welsford you wouldn't stop in! Mmmm... sammiches and fresh roasted coffee. And gasp... warm samosas!

Every time I decide the night before that I'm going to have breakfast at Georgettes I can't wait for morning to come.
Georgettes offers great hangover breakfast food at a price you can't beat.
you can even order a BLT to go for your lunch. But make sure you specify Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato
or you might be surprised with a bacon sandwich, which by the way was excellent.

georgettes, and before that Tics, has been there for over 30 years. Hard to imagine that the food is bad and yet they are still in business.
You are, therefore I am. That is the question....

I have eaten at Georgette's several times. Not sure if I have a strong gut or not but I've had no issues with the quality of food there. The service is spottier than the dishes tho.

I've eaten there a fair number of times. The food (and service) has always been great for the price. Not sure why it's getting a bad rap, aside from the fact that it's cheap and is a little rough looking inside.

I find the Pizza delight in grand bay is disgusting and they don't do takeout. But then again, I'm not a huge pizza delight fan anyway.
