Quantum Theory / FTPM Anchor

Postby *Chris* » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:26 am

Added a set of chains and perma-biners to this popular anchor last night. The chains are uneven in length so they look odd at first but they equalize when weighted to lower. I did not bother zipping up the biners since I figured it probably did little to deter theft and so far everything installed at Sunnyside last year is still there. (knocks on wood).

To reiterate for anyone relatively inexperienced: perma-biners at the anchors of various climbs at Sunnyside are indeed 'perma'. They are not booty. When top-roping a route please remember to use your own gear to preserve their service life. They are intended as a quick way to lower-off at the end of a lead rather than setting up a rap.

p.s. I didn't have a wrench so the maillons are finger-tight. They could use a torque. As could the third bolt of Quantum Theory... which is spinning quite freely.
