Stairway to Heaven rappel tat gone

maybe I missed it in a post on here, but the the tat on the tree above Stairway to Heaven at Sunnyside is gone.

Until it gets replaced I highly recommend walking off to avoid heinous rope drag when you pull your rope.

Not sure why this visiting climber would take it upon himself to remove these. IMO the cordelette and tat was still in reasonable shape. I have cordelette I'm willing to use up there. Would like those rings though.

It is a pretty belay up there, but always so awkward. I'll donate hangers and 'biners if someone's willing to put a bolt anchor in. Subject to the FA's approval, of course.

Yeah, sorry guys, I have the rings and some cord - I intended to replace it but forgot/haven't been around much. I'll try to do that ASAP.

Ok thanks Joe!

@Cory - an anchor near the lip would be good but I think with the rounded nature of the top out we'd need some long chain to make rope pulls manageable.

that tree seems plenty solid but the soil is quite thin. we should keep an eye on it and consider the anchor before we lose the tree.
