POLL : What is the best route in NB?

Postby Dom » Wed Dec 03, 2014 9:51 am

So which one is it?
Keep in mind that 10 options was the limit hence why there is the "other" option. Feel free to comment on your choice! (Especially if you chose "other")

For those of you who have not yet climb all of these routes, or other routes commented on below, this is a tick list of amazing routes in NB. A wonderful goal for those who have not climbed all of these routes yet would be to complete this list next season.

I have climbed most of those routes and just thinking about them makes me wish it was summer right now. Such good climbs!
I put my vote on Astroboy Direct though. That pitch is hard to beat in my opinion.

Marty you anti-conformist ba$tard - this is obviously geared toward rock hahaha

Otherwise, I could say my vote goes to NB route 8. The section from Boiestown to Doaktown is simply just classic.

You have ice climbing "tunnel vision" now that ice season is arguably almost upon us haha.

Agreed that ZP is an awesome route. I considered it in my list up there. Notable omissions are all other 3 stars in the last guidebook and the new kickbutt routes Greg et al. have been putting up at McQuirk.

I'm voting for Astroboy Direct but only if you consider it part of a 3 pitch link-up. There are other nice routes but there are no other multi-pitch options where every move along the way is nice climbing.

Also... McQuirks needs more representation on the list. Magic X was fantastic and there are others that I haven't climbed.

Well it is ice season and the title of the post is “What is the best route in NB?" so my top three picks are: Alaska Flashback, Truancy and Walton Glen Falls :)
