Trail Maintenance Day 2015

Postby Dom » Mon Aug 10, 2015 9:48 am

I propose that we properly finish what we started last year at Sunnyside.
I also propose Saturday November 7, 2015.
Given that there shouldn't be snow on the ground then and that the ground shouldn't be frozen, we could :
- Do regular maintenance on the trail all the way to Farside (e.g. prune branches, etc.);
- Anchor the walking bridges;
-Fix the new trail that leads directly to the bench (e.g. make it flatter, build steps for the last part, etc.)

The more the merrier. If there are too many cooks in the kitchen, we can send people to scrub routes. For instance, Black Dwarf, Awe, Smells like Rain, Thunder, Lightning, Victory Cabbage, etc. could use a scrub.

Thoughts?

If it doesn't conflict with my exam schedule I'll try to be there.

Pierrette and I will try to go out and help out. We only started climbing in NB this year but have been really amazed at all the hard work that has been put in at the various spots. Time to give back to the community.

The more the merrier. Last year we did it in Mid-November and 2 days before the scheduled trail day, 10-15cm of snow fell. It hindered our trail day performance but a good sized crew still showed up.
