climbing in NL

Postby Tenn » Sun Jun 24, 2007 12:10 pm

Hey
I've been in NL for about a week. I've travelled from near crabbes river to woody point and black lake (all from Corner Brook). So far the rock I've seen is mostly of the choss variety. I'm guessing that some rock on the east side of the island and some sea cliffs are of better quality. Can anyone comment on some of the better areas on the island of NL?

I've got another week of work before I'm taking about 10 days off here. I'd like to check out some climbing here but am wondering if its worth having my girlfriend bring over the rope and rack from bc. What are people's thoughts on this? We will be heading to St. Johns for the canada day weekend.

thanks
Tenn

there is a well developed crag outside of St John's but that is all I know about it
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.
