Hello all, my name is Leo van Ulden and i am the owner of Wallnuts Climbing Centre in St. John's. I have been climbing and developing areas here for over 10 years. I just wanted to post that i am working on getting a new guide book out within a year.... i hope. I would like anyone whom is interested in climbing here to post a reply to this. I am going to try to get a grant to put this together and make a kick ass book that is worth buying. Myself and a friend Jeff Holmes put out a guide in 1997 that is severly out of date, was photocopied and had hand drawn topos. Your replys will be used in my proposal to help show a need for such a book. Thanks for your time and i hope we can make this thing happen.

Leo

I love Newfoundland. I want to come climbing there for sure. Put me down for a guide too!!

And hey...tell all your friends about this forum, we'd love to hear the chatter from the rock and hook up with folks for possible climbing trips!!!

Cheers!!

hey just wondering what type of guide will it be. just roped climbing or is it going to include bouldering as well. i am also assuming it will be focusing primarily on east coast climbing areas as well as perhaps the southeast coast. is this a wrong assumption?

If it's an ice guide book. Count me in.

I'd be interested, especially if any routes in western NL are included. Recently moved here from Ontario, still looking for routes...and partners.

I am from the South and will be headed up your way in August of 2006. Having a guide book is a great asset. You can count me in for getting one. Will you have it on amazon?
