Be warned all NS climbers....

Chris is known for his Epics....

Everyone always gets out alive, but it might be 2am, you might be hungry and you WILL have a great story to tell.

Chris

True story:
We are on a multipitch ice climb last winter and Chris says "on belay", I climb to the first piece and hear Chris say "Hey buddy, put your weight on the rope I want to try something, trust me". So I let myself fall heavily on the rope. As I look up to Chris I notice he's got me on a hip belay. Trust me he says, hahaha.

In his defence he was being supervised by a good teacher.

I won't even start on the epics

If the 'good teacher' was Stef... then he isn't any better... that would be THE MAN of epics!!!

Nate,

What's your last name? Have we met? Where do ya live (I assume Hali). I've got a truck, and likely a boat too. I'm in Truro. I'd like to head to main face and giver on the multi pitches.

Sound cool? Give me an email at chris.hennigar@unb.ca

PS I'm not as epic as folks say, not sure why I get that rep... hehe.

hey Chris,

Last name is Smith, I'm ben's brother and live in Prospect out side of Hali. I think I've seen you at some of the UNB comps..maybe not. I can get myself as far a Halifax for a drive, if you've got a boat we should go to Crow's Nest or something, I hear there is some really nice, steep and continious trad routes out there. If you feel like coming into Halifax and then back out to the Paces lake cliffs, I'm in but, unfortunatly Hali is as far as a can get....

I'll call you tonight(tuesday) and we shall discuss then i guess, or post here...

Plans

Postby Chris Hennigar » Tue Jun 27, 2006 1:14 pm

Ok Nate,

Crow's would be cool. Are there any issues with tide/wind, etc. My boat is a small (alum. row boat).

Crow's looks hard... 5.9 and mostly 5.10c+, Can you lead trad comfortably at that level? I can lead/on sight up to 5.10 trad with good gear, and 5.11 if it's not a sand bag and is my style (juggy/hand jam pump fest) but it's not pretty to watch.

I'm still up for Paces if the above are issues...

I'll be coming down to Hali (bayers lake) tonight to visit family. If you could get a ride to bayer lake, I could bring you back to my house in truro tonight. We could leave early tomorrow, and I'll drive ya back to Hali tomorrow night.

I leave at 3:45 today and I should be home by 10pm or so, give me a shout. Leave your number if you want me to call you when i get back.

Yo Henni... I'm headed to NS from Friday to next Monday and I might be up for climbing. Give me a call. Also... why not return to Fredericton when I am going through town?

Later. Norfolk out!

I'd be up for some juggy handjam pumping on Friday if anyone is free.

Cheers

I'm going to Sorrow's today, so going to Truro and such isn't good, I've led up to 5.10d on trad but not a lot, that grades are fine by me if the gear is good, I can easily second that stuff I think...

Hey Stevo,

I'm in for a Friday session, I'm getting my report card from 9 to 11 but then the rest of the day is free and I'll be in town as well. Where to? Paces?

First Face might be ok, I wouldn't be surprised if many of the Main Face lines are still seeping.

Stevo, shame on you, you cradle robber. Climbing with someone who is "getting his report card on Friday". Aren't you fifty yet? And boys, beware: never get in a car with strangers, unless they give you the candy upfront.

Nate,

Shisty, That's cool man, no worries. Thanks for letting me know.

Looks like rain for friday... but I'd be up for some climbing then if folks are game and the weather improves.

Chris Norfolk, Saterday looks good... we should team up and head to Paces. I can meet you there from truro with the boat.
