One more Dover question...

Postby Pierre » Fri Jul 14, 2006 2:24 pm

Is there any water over there that can be filtered for drinking? (ie Fresh water ) Or does one need a condenser?

Just wondering how much water I should being with me for the weekend.. I'm going over to Dover and was hoping I didn't have a carry alot of water with me.

One other thing what's the bug situtation over on the island?

no water. Just buy a jug or two from the grocery store.

Bugs won't be a problem.

I was doing a little more looking around... It look like there is two small lakes on the island. Can someone confirm this with me, and are the fresh water?

Thanks a bunch.

It's a giant rock in the ocean. You should really just bring your water.

4L for 2 days it plenty for drinking, cooking, and washing. Don't try to filter the fresh / salt water on the top of the island. The "Ponds" do have salt water in them from time to time. The waves do splash to the top.

yo pierre- the swamps are filterable- I had to double filter with an MSR pump type filter to get all of the crap out- watch out though, I had my filter stolen by a kayaker. I'll be out tommorow if you guys are stoked for a session
