climbing partner(s) needed Aug 21st- 27th

Postby DR.NICK » Thu Aug 17, 2006 8:40 pm

Hey all! This is kinda last minute, but I am going to be heading out for vacation and would like to spend a week (maybe more) bouldering.
If someone would like to hook up to climb... and maybe party, please drop me an email.

I will be heading out (from ontario) on saturday the 19th and arriving sometime sunday. Also, could someone point me in the direction of a campground kind of central to the best climbing areas. Thanx in advance.

P.S.- I climb/project up to v7 if that matters.

As far as I know, there are not any campgrounds near the bouldering areas. You might want to check the Tourism Nova Scotia website for the nearest one.

I think the closest one is on Hammonds Plains Rd.

There is one in Indian Harbour, just past Peggy's cove, maybe 10 mins from West Dover. Looks like trailers mostly, but I see tents there. And they have wireless Internet in the campground. Avant guard. It's called King Neptune.

yo nick there is loads of places where you can camp for free around the bouldering areas in the LOC ( area near peggy's cove). Polly's cove is probably the best camp site right now since it already has a camp fire area. It's generally not cool to build a fire in areas without pre existing fire rings so if you have a camping stove you probably want to bring that to cook on. its possible to camp underneath some of the boulders too so can probably get by without a tent.

Seals

Seals? Are you going to shoot them, or club them to death? Try Brier Island ...

I always thought people were preaching about saving the seals until Pam made a public statement about saving those loving little creatures. Now I want to join Green Peace and save the world.

I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

I say club them.
