By the way, incase there is any confusion, the CNS dry rope is the 60m green one. That is, solid light green with no other colours braded in. Sort of stiff. Same make as the orange one Beyond Gravity used to use as a lead rope. CNS had some other green ropes, but I think the dry one is the only 60m rope, if that helps to identify it. I think I bought it in 2004.

Sunday

Postby peter » Wed Feb 14, 2007 7:29 pm

Tides are bad. I am up for anything. Moose River with an early start? It is definitely not top-rope country. I am interested in getting in with a second and doing some leading. Early start means, like, 6:00 a.m., return late, like, before midnight. Sunday slightly worse weather but who cares? P.

pfft- everybody knows rope climbing and ice are just rest days for a hard core bolderer- ha... its all jugs you know- (nevermind the curled up fetal position with dry heaving from last ice day- shhh).
I'd be psyched if anyone is heading out saturday- its either ice or bouldering and ice is easier on my skin.

weekend

Postby darrell » Fri Feb 16, 2007 12:01 am

Peter,

Sorry for the short notice. Just emailed you to say that I will be in Sussex and you guys are welcome to come up early Saturday morning, and crash at the camp Saturday night. Not sure where we will be climbing. I will check to see in morning, if the approach road is plowed into Little Salmon River. if not, it is a long skidoo ride in, and it would take several trips, if there are alot of us. Could also climb in Parlee Brook, as more can come, wit hteh short (3 km) appoach. I'll keep you posted, as I hear back from other people, but we could definitely climb in one of those places.

Roger? Eager? Conan?

The drive is actually about the same duration, as the highway is so much faster than the back road from Bass River to Moose River ...

So, I realize this is not everyone's plan, but I am still looking to get to Moose River on Sunday. Conan and Eager are still going with this plan? Where to meet and when? Peter

Or, maybe I will pursue a Plan B instead, not only due to the net-silence.

I am out for tomorrow, as I am going to do some exploring, instead.

Enjoy the Jeeping, and climbing. Parker and Reid and I are looking for some new inland ice sites, to combat this alternating "bad tides" problem. Peter

Do any of the seeping main face climbs form up? That'd make for some big ice climbing.
