Trad routes in NS?

Postby Andrew » Wed Aug 08, 2007 7:41 pm

How many developed TRAD lines are there in Nova Scotia and what crag has the highest concentration?

Just curious.

NB Climber.

I'd estimate there are about 100-150+ trad routes in Nova Scotia. Though they've been climbed, many don't see a lot of traffic because the Nova Scotian trad climbing community isn't very large at the moment so most aren't in top condition.

The most visited area would probably be the Musquodoboit Valley area. The area has a handful of crags with tough stuff (usually the cleaner) and easier stuff (vertical bushwacking at times). If you plan on coming Cassidy's guide book is well worth the purchase....

enjoy,
