Dover Sept 15-16

Postby gwa » Thu Sep 06, 2007 12:43 pm

Anyone interested in sending on Dover Island next weekend the 15-16th?

So far a few people are in for spending saturday night there, so we're going to try to organize a boat to go over saturday morning and get picked up sunday afternoon. I'll call Norm to see how his schedule is on the weekend and see if he's available. Is his number still 823-3339?

Graham

p.s. Anyone want bouldering this weekend, the weather looks great.

I spoke with Norm he's available to take us over Saturday morning.

I hope you can find a tent. I'll let you know if I know anyone with one they could spare. I can't remember if there would be a place to string a hammock up. I'd say probably not.

Are you looking for a ride/driving yourself?

Peace,

You could always rent a tent from MEC:

Tents (3-season)
1st Day: $18
Add'l Days: $12
Week: $84

Or take the risk of sleep out under the stars if the weather looks good enough.

Note: the MEC gear swap at the Hali location should be coming up, I bought my tent there years ago for $100. A Tarn-3 that used to be a MEC rental....except for a sticky zipper from desert dust it's still going strong.

I've had a tent on dover only once and It split wide open- leaving me wetter that night than any time I've been out there sleeping under boulders or by the fire. just grab a tarp if you're really worried

I'm not sure if others are planning on catching the boat, if not I we're a couple people short. Either way its not worth going on saturday anyway, by the looks of the weather. Sunday looks good.
