Dover Island had a bad winter

Postby betaburgler » Sun May 04, 2008 9:35 am

A group of us went to Dover yesterday and we were a little surprised to see some of the changes:

Polar bear is now blocked by another boulder, and there is some smaller debris at the start of the bear.

Cassidys prow no longer has a prow.

The smaller boulders between earth in motion and the wave have been wiped clear resulting in a nice open area.

The area below Lesbian love grotto has be filled with large boulders from the surrounding area.

One scoop is gone the way of Atlantis.

The right side of the orangutan boulder is gone, leaving orangutan with missing holds.

There are a few of us with photos of all the devastation. Ill try to get some posted soon, but my old web space is gone.

Wow. Mother Nature is impressive.

Phototbucket is pretty easy to use and I think you can download them full size and they get resized. Then you can link them to wherever.

We had a pretty rough year with freeze-thaw knocking stuff down around here.

It would also be great if we could get some before shots along with the after (for those of us that haven't been to Dover for quite a while now).

Orangutan still goes, it actually has cooler moves now, and feels about the same grade. But losing One Scoop and Ocean Playground is a bummer.
On the plus side there are a couple of new problems in that area that the group of us put up and worked, but they certainly are no consolation for the wreckage.
