Lake boulder carcases

Postby RockMasterFlash » Sat May 17, 2008 9:07 pm

Had quite a shock Wed evening, Went in to Lake boulder and Satelite and right at the entrance to both paths, there were lots of deer carcases. It definitely looks like some one has been poaching deer and leaving the bodies there to rot. Really kinda sad.... On another note when we arrived at the boulders around 6:30pm the bugs were out pretty bad (all black fly's and biting). As the sun went down and the temps got cooler, the bugs went away and we had an amazing night session. Super fun time and would definitely be looking to head into the LOC some time next week for another night session! Any takers let me know!!

Ciao

If it won't mess up access (a.k.a. you aren't supposed to be climbing there) perhaps you should report it to the Department of Natural Resources.

Usually they have anonymous tip lines that you can call if you really don't want to get involved. If you do that though, don't be surprised if they put the area under surveillance. It might be a good idea to let the community know if you or anyone does report it so climbers aren't out there doing something stupid and getting busted. Communing with Bud Green, striping moss off boulders, etc.

On second thought, even if you aren't supposed to be climbing out there it should be reported. Just clean up evidence of climbing first and say you were out hiking and saw it.

If someone else finds it and reports it and you aren't supposed to climbing there you'll likely get found out.
