Any word on the New Ground Zero?

Postby The Teth » Thu Oct 23, 2008 3:16 pm

I am thinking of cranking down on my lunch break a few times a week, and was just wondering if there is any word on when the new Ground Zero will be opening. I know renovations always take longer than expected, but I am looking forward to it.

Also, what are the winter hours? Will the gym be open around noon?

From the horses mouth.
GZ ver2.0 Should be open late Nov/Early Dec barring disaster.
Memberships will be extended to account for gym down time.
Hours will be 9am-10/11pm Mon-Fri 12-6 Sat/Sun.
So you can crank over your lunch break.
There will be some tasty eats, Just Us! coffee onsite and a chillin lounge as well.
There will be a super duper membership sale when new location opens!!!
Ummm that is about it for now.

Huh? Obviously I'm totally out of the loop. Is the gym totally moving? Where to?

Yeah, Sean has finally decided to upgrade (GZ 2.0). As I understand it, the new GZ will be on a side street just south of Wright Avenue, East of Burnside Drive (Off the new extension to Wright Ave).

if anyone plans to stop by for a visit, make sure to bring a hammer or a drill, otherwise the grand opening will be seriously delayed due to idle chit chat!
btw, Jeremy, there is definitely a housewarming throwdown in the works, but nothing will be posted until the opening date is confirmed. not to worry, climbers will be kept in the loop!

Sean,

Sounds sick!! You should post up some photos. It would be super cool to see a progression as the gym comes together! I can't wait to come home for a visit and get my hands on all the new holds you're gonna have!

Hope all is well in NS! Say hello to the family from Lynds and I.

hey Jeff!
great to hear from you. say hi to Lyndsay from Luc and me, too. :D
Sean spends all his time building the gym and not much time on the computer these days, but I will try to get some photos up (try the gym website and Todd's blog as other possible photo locations...). are you coming home for Christmas?
cheers,

Nice sign! Easy to see from the road. And definitely progress since the last time I swung by there. Although it looks like there is a little ways to go before it is ready to open. At least there are some climbing holds on the wall. Are the delays due to private sessions when you should be hammering? :D

Not yet. Still one more overhang to construct, 10 panels to go up, 12 more or so routs to set, carpet to go down, and one "Party" room to build.

Check back in 2 weeks.
