Dover Island, LOC and bugs

Postby misfits » Mon Jun 01, 2009 10:18 pm

Hey ya'll:

I was wondering what the bugs might be like at the end of June to boulder at Dover and LOC. My husband and I were out that way several years ago but it was in August and there weren't any bugs.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Jany! Nice to see a post from you. :) I read your article in R&I ... very well written and very moving. I was very happy to read that you attack all your problems with the same strength and courage I remember from Gravity.

Anyway ... bugs. LOC is bug-heaven and June / July ... particularly for black flies. Mosquitoes and deer flies pop up as well.

Dover is much better ... it is 90% granite and sits in the Atlantic, so there are few bug breeding grounds ... I've been in June and August and never found it 'buggy.'

Drop me a PM through the board if you and Steven do come up ... I'd love to go out for a session with you if you've time.
