First Face for Sale ?

Postby Rich » Wed Jun 22, 2011 4:52 pm

Heard a rumour last week that First Face is for sale again and that CNS is looking into options for securing access rights. Can anybody validate or provide any details?

Two large parcels that encompass Main Face and Neverland are for sale.

As for First Face, i can not find any listing on MLS or Viewpoint.ca (which is usually very good at listing even private sales).

With the big expensive homes going up all around Scot Lake (attached to Paces) I think we are going to see some major changes to Paces Lake in the next few years.

If I bought Main Face and retro bolted all of the sketchy trad lines would that be considered "un ethical"?

Thanks for the info Todd. I think you're right about changes to come...we've been really fortunate so far to have these places all to ourselves but they're unfortunately great real estate also.

CNS needs to find out the price and either A put together a syndicate of buyers( I am in) or B lias with MEC and outright BUY that shizzle!!!

If someone plans to buy it you may want to try to change the designation to some sort of not for proffit nature preserve. Otherwise, you'll pay property tax on that every year.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

The Cliff is about 10% of the lot but the owners won't split it up, but they are also not in a hurry to sell either. The owners would rather not see the lot developed. It's been forsale for a long time.

How much of the cliff is on the lot? If you buy the lot do you get all of 1st Face? Half of it?

Is CNS looking into buying it?

It's been awhile since I looked at the lot plan but I am pretty sure all of it is on the lot, one of the issues is that there is no direct access to the cliff from the road. If someone bought the lot (ie CNS) they may have to build a road as well if the others who own the private road wanted to not allow climbers.

There is a tax exempt status that can be applied to not for profit sports/recreation related properties. I remember reading it in the Nova Scotia Assessment act.
