indentifying climb in TB woods

Postby stoneseeker » Mon Mar 12, 2012 8:26 pm

Hey all, been spending some of this beautiful weather in TB woods trying out some lines I've never tried and just looking around...

I climbed something today that wasn't in the online or printed guide for the woods that was definitely scrubbed and developed, just wondering what it is.. The blunt arete on the same rock as the rad mantle "Topout Simulator", 12 feet or so right of it. It starts as far as I can tell with RH on undercling crimp, and LH high on slopey crimp, you smear a foot on and make a hard move to a good small rail and then its a breeze from there trending right up the arete to the TO. Its possible that its a HARD sit down project, and its stand up variation has been ignored, but I dunno. Anyone climbed this thing? name? grade?

Also, a word of caution. "Sister Sarah" start hold almost broke today. I heard it crackle and it flexed big time when I reefed on it... anyone else experience that? It would definitely come flying at your face/chest if it blew.

hope you've all been enjoying the beautiful weather!

Sister Sarah start always flexes but doesn't usually make noise.

The sitdown is a project - not sure if anyone has attempted the start. Ben B or S may know.

Claim it, Name it, Grade it, and add it to Mobeta!

stand start has been by a number of people, not sure if it was ever named or graded, sit is still a project although maybe nick has done it (seems hard enough to warrent a proper name so I suspect not).

cool, thanks guys.
yeah it was obvious to me the stand start had been climbed before, but I was mostly interested in if the SDS had ever gone down. It would be very burly indeed.
I can see why it never earned its own name/grade as a stand start though. One move wonder and then an easy scamper up to the TO. It really is begging to be climbed from a sit..
