Eagle’s Nest Clean Up
COME ON OUT!

http://www.climbnovascotia.ca/2012/04/e ... -clean-up/

CNS joins Wake Up NS in:
Eagle’s Nest Clean Up
When : April 22 @ High Noon
Where: 18 Snowy Owl Dr.
Sign-up required if you want to get fed. RSVP to climbnovascotia@gmail.com
Stock photo to represent a dump that is Eagles Nest.

According to page 38 in Nova Scotia Rock : A Climbers Guide.

Eagle’s Nest is the best bouldering on a rope in Halifax accessible by the infamous Metro Transit. The urban crag is located in the scenic Admiral’s Cove Park and the cliffs provide a great view of the Bedford Basin. With rope climbing from 5.4 to 5.11 ( Translation V0— to V4 and no top-outs) a day at Eagle’s Nest will provide everyone with wholesome family fun.

Eagle’s Nest was a great place to store a broken T.V. or stash your beer bottles to get their deposit back. But with the popularity of self-storage units and municipality waste collection a group of concerned citizens plan to return the cliff back to its singular original purpose as a park.

wow, I'm psyched on this! Eagles Nest actually has really good quality rock.

Sadly, we are gone on the 19th till the 29th at a wedding in SK... but I imagine its gonna take more than one session to clean that place up.
How do you plan to clean up that epic pile of trash anyway?? I cant help but feel that if we bothered the municipal government or Parks and Rec enough they might pitch in a Bulldozer or something! lol
Seriously though, some of that stuff will need chainfalls to get it outta there. hope everyone got there tetnis recently.

We've got a garbage skip coming that will back into the driveway of the house at the bottom of the cliff. The biggest thing down there is an oven(?) and I think we can get that out of there with a few people on it.

Craig Stamp will be administering tetanus shots on site using a custom vaccine he made with his basement chemistry set for anyone who wants one.

Wow, now this is a clean up that will really mean something!

Hopefully you can make some good headway with one day of cleaning....that place is a mess!

It will be easier for everyone to meet at 1174 Shore Drive on Sunday. The people who own this property at the bottom of the cliff are allowing volunteers to cross over their property which will make trash removal much easier and save everyone from walking down from the top parking area. See you there!

See Google streetview below and park on the side of the road:

No followup required. The event was a huge success and we got all the big garbage out of there. Photos and followup to come on the CNS site this week.
