Tour de Bloc season

Postby john » Tue Oct 02, 2007 8:17 am

Hi guys,

Well, this years comp season is quickly approaching. The Tour de Bloc is again this year bigger than ever with members from all provinces vying for a spot on the Canadian National team in the open category. The tour also features rec and intermediate categories to suit all abilities. The sponsor list promises to be better than ever this year also, so we can expect some good prizes at the comps. I hope everyone is physced. Below is the schedule link to the Tour website.

http://www.tourdebloc.com/schedule.html

Notice this year UNB will host two local events and Dal will host the regionals:

UNB - Oct 27, 2007
UNB - March 1, 2008
DAL - March 29, 2008

I suspect we will have some climbers from away this year, so I hope all you guys come out and represent NB. Ghislain Losier will be setting for Us so I am sure the routes will be awesome. There will be an after party arranged as we get closer to the dates.

We will need some volunteers to help strip the wall the week before the comp, wash the holds and judge finals the day of, I would also like to get a group to help me replace the t-nuts on some panels once the wall is stripped. I will send out more info once I recieve the date of arrival from Ghislain, regarding stripping the holds.

Please pass the word along

There are begineer intermediate and open catagories to suit all abilities not just experienced climbers. Everyone is welcome I have not confirmed the price but I belive its $35 or $40. We make nothing on the comp $5 per person goes to the tour and the rest back into setting and prizes.

UNB are going to have a ton of new holds and some sweet ones from Europe.
It's going to be a blast to set for this one. People should check it out for sure. You won't be disappointed!

Is there a Masters category such as over 45?
You are, therefore I am. That is the question....

I've contacted CEC concerning this. Don't worry if it's not online I will bring forms the day of. There is no fee to register with the CEC for Open.
