Banff film festival and UNB COMP

Postby john » Mon Jan 28, 2008 4:24 pm

Hi Guys,

PLEASE spread the word:

This coming weekend Feb 1-2/08 UNB Rock and Ice Climbing Club is hosting its Annual Banff Mountain Film Festival. As usual there will be 2 separate nites of different films from 7-10pm Friday and Saturday, I encourage you to attend both nites.

Back by popular demand we will also be hosting a Fun Competition geared for beginner and Intermediate climbers on Saturday to give everyone a chance for more Prizes. It is the goal to make it a packed weekend of events:

Friday 7-10pm Film Fest
Saturday 11-3pm Comp
Saturday 7-10pm Film Fest
Saturday 10:30pm After Party
Sunday Ice Climbing or Afternoon Gym hours for anyone left standing

The comp will be set by myself and Ben B, geared towards beginner and Intermediate climbers. Last year we were packed with 66 competitors; this year I want to hit 70!
There will be minimum 30 new routes, the five best count towards points, most points wins, no finals, friendly format. There will be a dyno comp and pull up contests as well.

Entry: $12 and a non perishable food item to benefit the food bank
Where: UNB wall
When: Saturday Feb 2/08 11-3pm
Prizes by radical Edge

cheers

tickets are 11$ in advance or 13$ at the door.

If you are coming up for the comp on Saturday you can get all your info there, and you can get advance tickets then too.

Cheers.

Sean

It is just uphill from the Bank of Montreal. Follow the crowds.

Probably too late for you to see this but it's in McLaggan Hall... heading uphill, the one right after the bookstore/bank.
