Snow Stake anchors

Postby Matt Peck » Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:35 pm

Found this to be kind of interesting, Ive run into a couple of places in the maritimes where a snow stake/fluke would be useful (upper sunbake runout), but mostly I was thinking about routes on washington/Katadhin. This gives a pretty decent howto on a fairly obscure piece of pro. http://alpineclub.org.nz/documents/activities/instruction/snow%20anchor%20report.pdf
Incidentally, I am aware that it is high summer, but the sickness Im infected with has me craving ice.

I like to think of it as being enlightened rather being inflicted by a sickness. Regardless, the days are getting shorter.
