Hey all,
I'm looking for a new harness. Any suggestions?

Hey Greg I love my Petzl Sama. It doesn't have any leg loop adjusters so I can't use it for ice climbing. I just love the simplicity of it. Auto double back and no leg loop adjusters. Anyways, if you're looking for something more all around Marty's might be a better option.

I have the slick ArcTeryx harness made of thin webbing and no padding:

Pros:
* Far more comfortable than it looks. 3 hour long hanging belays don't hurt/chaff/pinch.
* Weighs nothing, packs to nothing, and you can't feel it on. Yet it's super safe. It's everything a condom should be!
* You seriously can't feel it. Sleeping with it on in a portaledge is comfy.
* Since there's no padding it doesn't get gross with sweat in the summer.
* Although leg loops are fixed, they are partly elastic... so ice climbing isn't an issue.
* I really like the forward-swept gear loops

Cons:
* Expensive. I was given mine as a gift.
* No haul loop. I added a 15cm open sling to make a custom full-strength haul loop.
* Fit is odd. Mine is cranked down as small as it can get in the waist and I barely fit into the leg loops.

All in all, I'd buy it or a similar design. I hear good things about the new BD knockoffs.

I have the same harness and I agree with everything Chris said. It's expensive, but I can't see myself buying anything else

I like the Petzl Sama. Would like to try out the Arcteryx sometime though.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.
