Red Rocks Beta

Postby Fred » Tue Oct 17, 2006 2:22 pm

hey all. We are thinking of going to Red Rocks in the new year. I have heard stories of new multi-pitch sport climbing going up since the last guidebook (that I have) was published. Does anyone know where to get this info?
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

yeah, ask your wife....

Brent has (I think) a guide to the new sport routes.. apparently there are some long ones up the rainbow wall.

but since I am your climbing partner while there.... I think I'd rather do the trad multipitch... and sport single pitch... well except prince of darkness.. I'll do that again I guess. it is pretty nice.

Do you guys often speak to each other or is it just through Climbeasterncanada.com threads?

I know.. funny isn't it?

I read this post before we chatted about it so I answered....

plus I thought it was info that others may want.

Sigh.

Multi pitch sport routes? I hear POD getting promoted as a pure sport climb, but i tells ya it was nice to have a set of nuts up there rather than running it out!

I really like Red Rocks, but I will say I've enjoyed the gear climbing more than the sport climbing. Something about cruising up multi pitch climbs. But I am curious about some other multi pitch sport climbs.

apparently there are new 10 pitch or so 5.10 fully sport routes in Red Rocks

I love the trad too but also enjoy single pitch sport a lot. The movement just doesn't compare to say "Frog Land". However, the view from the "Corridor" (example) certainly doesn't compare to say "Frog Land".
