This video of Patrick Edlinger in the Verdon Gorge is one of the best soloing videos I have seen.

Wow, not too shabby. I tired climbing barefoot once, it sucked the whole time, not one moment did I think "Hey this is kind of fun". So all the more credit to him.

On another note, did anyone else think that he got lowerd awfully quickly off that Italien (Munter) hitch? I wouldn't want to use that carabiner for much else after that.

mmmmmm short shorts.

We use munters all the time in rope rescue on single person loads. THe biner is fine, I bet there are some awful twists in that rope though.

I do like though how his belayer just hangs out over edge with out being backed up and does the lower that fast with no gloves on.

was that a non-locker the munter was in?
If women ruled the world there would be no wars, just be a bunch of jealous countries not talking to each other.

Yeah, I saw that too.

Yeah, I've seen that too, I was just thinking of the speed at which he lowerd. I've repelled off a munter hitch and I could see the wear after 2 descents at reletively low speeds.
On the other hand, their carabiners were probably of a heavier metal then the ultra lightweight stuff we get now. Probably alot more rugged.
