Mountain_Marc’s new avatar is making me nervus about reading this message board at work. It is a real attention grabber, which is not what I want when I am trying to look like I am working. Just saying...

Thanks man. We got to look out for each other. Not that I didn’t find a certain fascination with the old one. :D

Work n Play

well using the computer at work for pleasure (such as viewing this forum) is a serious misuse of resources.

Ah, but message boards like this wouldn't be nearly so interesting without all us bored people at work (wishing we were out climbing instead).

True, but it uses very little of the CPU, which keeps me from crashing my compute by attempting to do more work while running two or three large GIS processes. (Feels more productive than twiddling my thumbs too.)

Just use Firefox and Adblock the images you don't like.

That's pretty much what I do with annoying avatars.

The government is buying me a bigger monitor, so I will have plenty of room for the avatars. Going to 19" flat panel.

You're just getting one now? I've had one for at least 3 years now! Benefits of being the graphics person of the office.

I need to get one for home now!

Damn, I spend all day doing machine programming with a laptop that spontanisly reboots its self (the hard drive has gone on it twice!) and I still can't get a new laptop.

Stupid work.

But do you work for the government? The government has a knack of overspending on computers and the like. Ever hear of March Madness?
