Rumney - Thanksgiving Long Weekend

Postby Scooter » Mon Sep 14, 2009 9:08 am

Would anybody be interested in a trip to Rumney over thanksgiving? I do not want to set anything in stone just yet, but I do have the 12th and 13th of Oct off from work.

I would like to leave Friday Oct 9th and travel down to Rumney to climb Sat, Sun and Mon and leave Tuesday the 13th back to NS.

I have a car. Would rather climb in pairs, so no 3some, so either one or three other individuals would be sweet.

post up PM whatever soon so we can get on plans.

Cstamp? ChrisR? Zig? Rich? Sir Cassidy? MickL? Aidas? BSmizzle? NSmizzy?

I spent a day at North Conway on my Rumney trip two Septembers ago -- fantastic. I would be interested in checking that out for a day again as well.

I've never been to Rumney, so I'd be keen to go climbing Thanksgiving long weekend. Keep me posted.

Does anybody know if the guidebook by Ward Smith is still out of print? Any idea where I can get one? Anybody have one I can borrow?

You are SOL unless you can borrow one. FWIW it's out of date anyway, finding people and asking them what routes are what tends to work well.

Dr.Topo.com has a downloadable booklet - I'll print it off - it doesn't look comprehensive but it's a start. The new edition of the Ward Smith book is due out more or less any day now but will likely be too late for us.
